[ ✿ Eytelia Island Journal ✿ ] ; I got bored and randomly generated half the stuff.

Now this is a screen I’m sure a few of you haven’t seen in a while… Unless you’re a chronic resetter like me.
Anyway, It’s been some time since I posted on here, and recently I’ve been crazily craving to play some Animal Crossing, and since Nintendo refuses to update the game or make a new one…. It’s time for some New Horizons!
This time, however, I want to try something new to keep myself engaged with the game. The last time I’ve played this game I was somewhat of a perfectionist. I was constantly resetting to get the perfect layout, villagers, items, etc…. Well, this time: We gambling.
I gave myself a pseudo-hard mode this time, with a few changes for my liking, Just to spice things up:
=> Going to be randomly generating the island name, hemisphere, and character’s name. Might do this for other things in the game but… I kinda forgot what happens later so I’ll see how true this is.
=> No re-rolling on generators unless, somehow, I think all the names/ideas are dog water (I’m easy to please and while editing I haven't re-rolled once).
=> No resetting Island layouts. Just going to choose whatever the game gives me.... Same for starter villagers, of course.
=> No item-trading or selling. Should be more fun and “organic” to just use whatever I get to decorate.
=> Try (emphasis on try) to get villagers I haven’t had on previous island/saves. Allowing myself three dreamies/exceptions. (Agent S, Sheldon, and Poppy… This was actually harder than thought it would be. I love so many of the squirrels. Please forgive me Hazel and Pecan. Even if Hazel is my all-time favorite villager, I’ve just had her on every single island I’ve made + New Leaf. Pecan I’ve had as a villager on most of my towns/islands since the Gamecube verison lol.)
=> Also, going in hand with the item trading rule; no trading for NMT’s. Whatever I can get by myself is all I have.
=> No time-travelling. Might allow myself to do so when I get terraforming, but we’ll see.
...Naturally, if I feel like changing a rule down the line I most likely will. The challenge is to just make things interesting and “different” not harder and less fun. That and… It’s my island.
With all that yapping done, let’s get to creating the island!
First we start with our name aaaand… I couldn’t find a generator just for player names.
So I just used the first name generator I found;
Of course, I can’t put first and last names, with the 10-letter limit we have, so I’ll pick between one of the first names, or last names if I think It could be a nice enough name.
Personally, for me at least, it’s between Tameika, Hunze, and… Actually that’s about it. So… I pick Tameika in the end, mainly because it’s a first name and I googled the name and it also belongs to a weight loss couch who looks awesome as heck.
Surely my character will live up to her awesomeness and not be a girl failure… Surely.
Next, the birthday. Also forgot you had to put this somehow. I haven’t played this game for so long…
And it doesn’t pick any date close to May. And none of them look aesthetical either… (Yes, I find some dates aesthetically pleasing, I’m THAT weirdo.)
…Well, I thought that until I actually typed the dates down…
1/23! It’s perfect! 2/12 isn’t bad either, but Tameika will be a 1/23 baby (I feel like I’m making an OC…) It will also be easy for me to remember since my actual birthday is 12/23. Very nice.
All’s going nicely, I’m having fun, but then remembered something... Genders exist.
Well, styles, my bad. I don’t think this matters too much because I can choose either and I could still look the same? Maybe? Whatever, I’ll wheel it.
Yippee.
I could let whatever they gave me be how I looked, but the more RNG the better. I did the decisions by number and I’m sure you guys don’t want to see all the screenshots given all the options you have, so please trust me on this one.
Just… Had to cope with the hair color, saying; “Tam’s killing that granny look.”
Honestly, was somewhat glad to get the gray eyes, too. She can almost excuse for a bad anime character now.
Anyway, we get the hemisphere option. We wheel that too.
Honestly, kinda glad we got Southern Hemisphere. Most of my islands have been Northern and that’s where I’m from anyway, so getting a Southern island will be a pleasant change of pace. Hopefully, Winter isn’t too close by, right?
…Right?
We finally get our island selections, and honestly, not half bad (I was expecting much worse).
But I’m not particularly passionate about any of them, right now at least…
Imagine how stupid it would be if I used the wheel to decide for me–
Island 4 it is! And it was actually really close, too.
Welp, fate has decided we want a very close town hall to the airport... Not that I’m complaining. it’ll make travelling easier and be fun to see how I can design around it in the future when I get terraforming.
(Looking back on it, Island 3 would've been so much easier to design around...)
Tim and Tom ask what I would bring to a deserted island, and I pick what I know Tameika would pick; Something to kill time.
We watch the opening cutscene and... Wow, decided to watch it all and It made me so nostalgic, haha. You guys remember watching it when Nintendo announced New Horizons? Good times... Oh, wait, we've land! I sure hope my starter villagers are so cute, precious, loving, and–
Eeh… I’m not complaining about either. The eagle looks kinda cool though ngl.
Also, we got cherries. Nice.
I let the villagers, whose names I eventually find out are Quinn (the eagle) and Buck (the horse), choose their tent placements. They’re not half bad.
I didn't realize it at the time, but I find it cute how both their catchphrases start with a 'P' and end with 'er'.
So, now it’s time to name the island, but this time we actually have a dedicated generator to name the island.
And wow, the names are actually pretty good. The downside of that is that I actually have to pick my favorite. Among all the names, I’m really feeling Mornborn, Angelbreak (cool name js), Mythhill, Eytelia, and Wynter.
so 5 out of the 10 I like… Oh jeez, uhhhh… Screw it, we’ll wheel it and–
Actually, change of plans, I decided to google the names, and apparently, Eytelia shares a name with a company that makes silicone-based products for health and well-being (and also the common name of a flower). If I’m going to name my character after a weight loss coach, I gotta keep the health theme going, after all. However, if someone wants, please take Mornborn and/or Angelbreak. I like those island names too much for them to never end up being used.
We name the island, have a cool party, and then catch some ZZZ’s.
Tameika can hardly fall asleep! It was that exciting! (That or the cherry juice was making it harder for her to fall asleep… Must’ve added caffeine to it.)
Eventually, she falls asleep and has sweet dreams of K.K. Slider, like the average person...
[ ✿ DAY 1✿ ]
Tameika wakes up and is instantly billed.
Such is the way of life, but hey, she seems happy enough.
...But before we start the day, we try to hang something on the tent walls!
After that plan failed horribly, we go back outside and catch Buck on a stroll. Tameika is rewarded for her hard work of telling him that his tent spot was pretty good with... A cute tulip hat!
Isn't she so cute? Looking more like a grandmother every day.
Anyway, we talk up with Tom Nook, and learn DIY's.
But honestly, we're there more for the shopping the machine's cookin'.
But then Tameika remembers... To buy things, you need the currency...
So, our beloved Marine Song 2001 waits for us, as we go out and catch our first fish instead.
You'll never believe our first catch on the island!
Tameika has a feeling she'll be seeing this lil' guy a lot.
...Oh yeah, I almost forgot, we made a custom design. I needed the Nook Miles.
Red is a nice color, if you ask me.
Oh, and we finally edit our passport!
After tinkering with that a bit, and before selling the fish, I suddenly remember... We can turn in fish and bugs to Nook!
So instead of making some cash, we collect a few bugs and fish, until...
Objective of the day complete.
For the rest of the day, we just decided to collect Nook Miles to pay off the house, while having a few highlights...
A Jukebox is such a good idea to get from a balloon, especially this early in. Talk about lucky.
Tameika puts her design skills to the test... Not really but since I rarely ever make my own designs It'll be fun to see what I can create.
(I honestly have no idea what I'm going to do with the entrance.)
Made a doodle to commemorate such an eventful day.
Soon enough, we manage to rack up the 5,000 Nook Miles Tickets!
Tuckered out, Tameika hits the hay, excited to finally upgrade from tent to house tomorrow morning...

House acquired.
Tameika checks her mail, and gains the Wooden Low Table DIY and a new shirt she ordered, before walkin' a bit and finding her first-ever bottled message.
Thank you, Wendy, very cool.
(As of typing this, I still haven't used the mirror to change my looks.)
Oh, we also catch our first boot.
We then talk to Buck, who's living quite on the wild side, leaving his tent door open for any friend, foe, or mosquito to enter as they please.
After the quick chat, we go back toshopping checking up on Nook, but first...
Naturally, Tameika was not opposed for more opportunities to shop.
I mean, hey, they told her she can place it anywhere... Who wouldn't want a Wal-Mart in walking distance?
After doing that, which... Doesn't take long since we're a fan of hitting trees and rocks, we check on Blathers.
At the price of touching bugs, slimy fishes, and dirty fossils, we gain the ability to hop over rivers.
So humbled, in fact, that Eytelia's getting its very own museum in the future.
We then head to the newly opened Airport, to use our newly obtained "Nook Miles Ticket".
Before hopping on, Tameika makes sure her pockets are as empty as possible. We need all the wood, rocks, and possibly new fruits we can get.
But the materials aren't what's (too) important.
What's important is any new faces we'll see on the island, and...
We do sight one new face.
With a NAT 20 charisma roll, Tameika persuades this wonderful blue rhino to join her on her island.
Honestly, I'm very happy with Hornsby as our third villager. A fresh face I've never had on previous islands and I do quite like him, so it's a win in my book.
We go back to Eytelia, and with a few new fruits, too.
Oranges and Coconuts!
...I'm unsure if we can even get the other fruits without online play.
Surely Nintendo would make it possible for people without Internet, or people who don't want to pay 20 dollars for an online service, to get all the fruits in the games, right?
Oh, and later into the night, Tameika meets a ghost who accuses her of being one instead.
Y'know, pretty normal activities.
We scare the souls outta the poor guy, and do a quick fetch quest to get them back.
We are rewarded with our hard work.
It'll go quite nicely with the Jukebox.

And learn our first reaction from Buck.
Learning emotions from others? What are we, a robot?
After experiencing joy for the first time, we talk to Tom Nook, and I come to a horrifying realization.
I forgor
you can farm for three villagers the previous day... Let's just pray the auto-fill is nice and kind.
I need to pretend I didn't just make a oopsie, so we celebrate the opening of Nook's Cranny...
...Build a bridge...
...And start the process of making houses for our interested parties.
Oh, and we get a maid gown from the skies.
An odd gift from the heavens, but I ain't judgin'.
In fact, Tameika was in a pretty gardener mood after putting it on, only to be stopped by the wooden can suddenly combusting.
A shame, but they made sure that the 'Flimsy' part wasn't false advertising.
The gardener vibes fade into thin air, and we get back to working on the houses.
We're eventually given a ladder, that will definitely be useful for the rest of our time on the island, and soon after, our housework is done.
Naturally, I knew Hornsby was going to be one of the plots, but the others were going to be up to chance on who I got, so I put my hands together, prayed up to the same skies that gave me that maid gown, and...
We get REALLY lucky.
I'm an Animal Crossing nerd, so I already knew what these two looked like just from seeing their names.
Neither of which I've had on my previous islands before so this works.
(Kinda sad to mention considering I have Caroline's amiibo card.)
I've heard the hype around Carmen so I'm glad I'm getting to see it for myself.
We sigh in relief before heading back to Nook, who gives us some Simple Wooden Fencing to decorate the island with!
We use it to make flower gardens, as I won't be able to get them from others online this time. Makes the process slower but I've never bred flowers before so this should be fun and interesting with the help from a guide.
Right before Tameika heads to bed (literally was about to log off), we meet Gulliver for the first time.
He just like me, fr fr.
We beat him up with a net until he wakes up, and find some phone pieces for him. When we return them, he says...
My guy, it's the middle of the night, go back to sleep.
...Unless he can't. Understandable if so, I would have a bit of a rough time sleeping after being battered with a net made of sticks.
Fortunately, we don't experience that, and get some nice ZZZ's.

We also meet this hippie dog named Harvey.

After advertising his own island (sorry pal, Eytelia loyalty is strong around these parts), we meet up with a previously new face, but now a familiar one.
See? Even Hornsby agrees; Eytelia is where it's at.
We greet then leave, and outside we shoot down a balloon, and you wanna know the funny part?
We get ANOTHER Full-length maid gown.
I'm still wearing the one I got yesterday under my swimsuit (somehow).
Both were from the skies, by the way.
Again, I ain't judgin' anyone up there.
We finally check our mail, forgetting to do so earlier, and we get a letter from ol' Gulliver.
Honestly, getting mail sounds fun. Better than whippersnappers typin' on 'em phones, saying things like "That's crazy."
I would never.
We open the present, and inside lays a "Coin headpiece".
We put it on and it's basically a free hairstyle change.
After putting it on, we move to Tom Nook's tent to do the Customization class lesson.
We ace it with flying colors.
Tameika thinks it matches the room rather nicely.
We don't have much to do today, so I made some changes to the "Woodem" custom design I made a few days back.
By changes, I meant I just... Put a line through the middle of it.
...Hey, leave me alone, art is something that requires practice and that's what I'm doing.
After that, we did a lot of this:

We made two area's.
One is Lilies, the other is Roses.
Quinn is very happy to finally have a house so she can put things on the walls.

Just noticing the cassette player next to the building, Tameika does some group stretches with her pals.
Poor Buck's in the back.
But she seems to have more energy in her, as she finally goes diving.
You think she would've done it earlier, considering the amount of time she had the swimsuit on for.
We catch our first sea creature ever...
...And then a scallop, which leads to our first meeting of the legendary Pascal.
He has such a way with words.
We do a tiny bit more diving around, until eventually we're all tuckered out...
But wait! We gotta celebrate some stuff!

We also get our 100th piece of furniture (or 100th catalog entry) from Buck, who assumes that putting a streetlamp up will attract hyper-atheletes.
Naturally, we put it up for any future super athletes that come to our island.
Starting a muay thai team sounds kinda cool.
We stroll around, until we find another bottled message from... My birthday twin (12/23)!

We later visit the shady guy we met earlier at the back of the island and buy some (hopefully) legit art from him.
Later, we watch Buck-o do some stretches at the shore.

We go home and, deciding she's tired of laying on her tent bed (forgot what it was called it's 2am cut me some slack), she makes a Wooden Simple Bed and places it in her room.

But after that mild distraction, we place the Campsite by the docks!
So our main objective is done for the day, as now we have to wait for any guests.
Doesn't mean our just-as-important side quests are done, though.

Looking back, though, I think it does look nice on her.

We buy a few floorings, carpets, and wallpapers, before heading over to the recycle bin.
Also, our first actual item from it! ...Not counting cardboard boxes and rust pieces.
We set down a new plot to start our new hunt, but first...
We gotta pluck our produce!
NOW we can begin the hunt, and on the first island...?
Hmm.. More villagers to feel conflicted about.
On one hand, I don't mind faith...
On the other, I kinda already got O'Hare who fills the tropical vibe slot of the island.
I could almost make this a "Pick up the first villager you see" challenge, but...
Nah, I wanna see who else I can find, so....
We take a quick picture with Ms. Faith, and leave her to enjoy the island.
Surely this won't be something I regret doing in the future.
But for the present, I DEFINITELY didn't regret doing it, because on our second island hop...
She doesn't exactly fit the island theme I want to go for, but when the update that introduced her came out, she was one of my most wanted at the time.
Unfortunately, she was not a squirrel and my island was a squirrel-only island.
That's not the case anymore, so... Needless to say, I was very hyped when I saw even a single pixel of her as I was walking onto the island.

I just put a bunch of furniture and flowers down.
Well, as long as Tom Nook is happy, we're happy, too.
We check on Agnes, who's up surprisingly early.
Another interior that we're surprised is so good we have to use the "Shocked" emote?

We decide to go and find our last(?) villager, and we may have found something even better than the last potential villager.

At our first stop, we meet Fauna.
We continue the cycle of debating if we want to take the first villager we meet.
For some reason, I was feeling particularly brave, so while I don't mind Fauna, and she does fit my island theme...
But I wanted to see if we could find someone I liked more, because if Petri is anything to go by, we certainly can, right?
Right?
We take a picture with Fauna, like we did with Faith.
Oh, and it started raining.
Which was very fitting for the future mood, because as much as I'd like to show you every villager I met on each island, it definitely wouldn't fit the image limit here.
Let me just say this;
Island Hopping sucks if you're not lucky.
Also, before we use another Nook Miles Ticket, we plant around 10 of our peaches.
As you can see, we have around 20 Nook Miles Tickets.
Around Nook Miles Ticket 23, after farming Nook Miles achievements, we did meet someone I had on a previous island, but made an exception for;
If skipping Fauna was a mistake, then deciding to skip Agent S because she didn't fit my theme was a fatal sin.
I was feeling cocky, and my hubris was about to be thought a lesson.
So, I go back to my island, because I need to farm more Tickets.
In the midst of my torture, I almost forgot to greet Bill!
Technically, it was an hour after I woke up, but it was around 7 AM, so...
I am speed.
After the greet then dip, I continue to farm Nook Miles Tickets.
My energy is low, my motivation is at the bottom of the barrel...
But my savior was there when I needed him most.
I shall give it my all.

They grow up so fast.
Also, no more multi-updates after this... Unless I start slacking off or maayybee decide to do double updates every two days, because now we're up to date!
The rest of the villagers are just as excited as me to see K.K. Slider, considering how early they decided to wake up for it.
Feelin' kinda bad for Molly...
Also, y'all ever think about how "unique" Animal Crossing: New Horizon's credits are?
Like, you wake up, start the game up once more, and the game starts playing the credits.
Just a bit funny to me.
Anyway, after the show, Nook's at our doorstep to deliver the song and... My true beloved.
Terraforming.
This implies we were't living each day to the fullest, weren't doing things we liked, and not having lots of fun.
Jokes aside, seeing those messages really does give a sense of freedom and completion.
Gosh, I'm just a bit nostalgic, ignore me.

I decided to be a bit risky a few days ago by planting a 20k Bell bag into a money hole.
As you can see, the risked paid off.
...Don't know how easy it is to do this or you need a bit of luck but it felt good regardless.
With the leftover Nook Miles we had (I only had 9k and had to farm a bit more), we get our Cliff Construction permit and our Waterscaping permit.
New room!
Thinking of making it the bedroom, so the main room can be the living room.
Haven't thought about it too much.
More happy than surprised to see you.
Also, I'm now just noticing she has eyes behind her glasses.
I do like that they're barely noticeable.

The Rattan set is one of my favorites in the game, so I was very happy to get this simple lamp.
I genuinely don't think I'll be able to get the entire set, especially of the color I'd like, but hey, it's worth a shot.
