Does NL/HHD DLC still work?

Hiya! During a spring cleaning, I noticed a 3DS game on the floor. It was a long lost HHD! I plan to use it for DLC in my new town, whatever theme it is. But does the DLC still work? I noticed a thread saying villager Amibo doesn't work anymore.

DLC no longer works, but you can still access the Happy Home Network. Amiibo should work as it's kind of the whole point of the game

I think she was meaning the giant items in AC:NL wa in which case I don't know why it wouldn't. And I have no idea why a villager amiibo wouldn't work and there aren't any new updates to the game that would make it not work. That's why the HHD new leaf items should work too.

No I'm pretty sure it works. There is no logical reason it wouldn't but I can get back to you on that in a few days after I get my copy of the game if you would like.
