Koolewong: Kamp Koala

I was rummaging through my collection of Amiibo cards and gathered all of my koala villagers and noticed that I had 'em all....all 10 koalas.I wanted to make an all-koala town in New Leaf but was a couple of koalas shy of a full town.But now that I have access to all of those tree hugging,eucalyptus chewing marsupials(and apparently,way too much spare time)I decided to start Koolewong(koolewong is one of many Aboriginal names for koala).I already have Faith,Melba and Lyman on my other islands so they'll probably be among the first to move in.Note: I'll still be posting entries on my Billington island journal.

I got Melba from my other island to move but she was a bit indecisive.

Oh,I've got just the place.............

There's always room for one more koala.Yup,Melba has been given the Official Koolewong Stamp of Approval.

Lyman the lime koala has finally arrived in Koolewong.I have a long history with Lyman dating back to the very early days of New Leaf.I didn't like him at first but he really grew on me over the years.

Alice is on the island.I'm going to give her the catchphrase from her old New Leaf town: "To the moon!"

The koalas seem to be getting used to their new habitat.

Ozzie's house still has a bit of that classroom vibe from his New Leaf house but it's more like a workshop for New Horizons.

Well,I'm glad to see that the Oz man is still a big goofball.

Lyman is this island's Mr.Excitement.He seems to be a bit of a light sleeper.

Ah,nothing like an island full of happy koalas.

I've been fiddling with the island's landscaping.I'm going for a semi-Australian outback thing.

Wow,now that's a transformation.....Eugene goes from a fuzzy Ray Charles to a milquetoast college professor.

I've given Melba different kinds of outfits and they all look good on her.

Yuka's new shirt matches her eye shadow.

I thought it would be fun to give the koalas island appropriate clothing.Now they're all ready for a luau.

Why am I wearing a hibiscus muumuu?Uhh.....I was just modeling it for Alice you know.....sooo she could see what it might look like when she wears it.Yeah,that's it.......

There's still a lot of work to be done but Koolewong now has a Dream Address if anyone wants to visit.

I found this design on the internet and thought it would make a nice island flag.It looks alright if you squint really hard.

Sydney had a couple of firsts for Koolewong: She had the first villager birthday and was the first visitor to Yowie's house.I suppose it all makes sense because she was the first koala on the island too.

Hmmm...I feel like someone's staring at me and it's making me nervous.

I dunno...maybe it's those huge googly eyes?

Hey,who says koalas just lounge around in trees eating eucalyptus leaves and sleeping all day?These guys are breaking a sweat.

I think Gonzo needs more of those brain enhancers.

Yes,yes...I did it!I broke into your house,ate your strudel,tried on some of your lady clothes and made several long distance phone calls.Ah,it feels good to get that off of my chest.........

What??I visited my original ACNH island,Gilligan,the other day and spoke with some of the villagers.Ol' Dom was my starter jock two and a half years ago and he claims that "he just moved here".I guess he was just trying to make conversation.

It's nice that Melba remembers her old resident rep.Feldman gave her that spunky outfit she's wearing.

No signs of intelligent life down here,so I set up these bad boys to find some.

Geez,finally a mostly sunny day.I think it rained for almost a full week.

It looks like we have a koala jam at the plaza bench......

Ok...they worked it out among themselves.

Getting Eugene's hand-me-downs is definitely a mixed bag.

I invited a couple of my old New Leaf friends over for a cup.A chicken and a hippo....hmmmm....is there some significance involved with that??Or is this just a really clumsy attempt at foreshadowing...........?
